Ford F-150 Raptor R

Ford had announced they would be coming with the four-door truck, the F-150 Raptor R, a more rugged version of the already vicious Raptor. The engine of this model is certainly going to blow your mind. The same V8 engine Ford first used in the Mustang Shelby GT500 is present here. However, its horsepower will be reduced by 60hp while its torque value is taken up. A 10-speed automatic transmission made to be standard is what delivers the power to all four wheels. The torque converter was also gripped up to deliver power when and where it is needed better.

This vehicle is faster, stronger, and better than its predecessors. Read on to see its amazing features.

FEATURES

You can’t let talk about this model without a bit of enthusiasm in you. The F-150 Raptor R is ousted with a long-travel suspension. This suspension features FOX large valve shocks and massive coil springs specially designed to take advantage of the supercharged V8 engine power. It has a good ground clearance that allows it to climb over barriers. Standard ground clearance is about 13.1 inches.

Driver’s assistance is available, and they are so top-notch, but this doesn’t mean drivers should ignore the vehicle and the road.

The options available for this model are the choice of colors of which Avalanche Grey is part. A panoramic sunroof is another option, which would cost about $1,500.

The hood and rear flanks are given appliqués that look like a cracked desert floor filled in with a zillion little 8s and one single “V” on the driver-side rear.

There is an option to get aesthetically pleasing graphics to cover the hood.

THE EXTERIOR

This model is built so that it can conquer any terrain. It has exceptional off-road durability, and riding on cracked desert earth is not an issue. It comes with a bead-lock huge 37 inches all-terrain tires. These tires are sectioned into rows of biting teeth to hold the terrain firmly and grab and grip onto whatever comes its way. The dimensions of this model are approximate as follows; curb weight is 6100 pounds, the wheelbase is 145.4 inches, 234 inches in length, 87 inches wide, and 81 inches high.

This Raptor R offers 13 inches of wheel travel in the front and 14.1 inches in the rear. A new front axle, an active exhaust system, and a larger aluminum driveshaft are imposed in this model. These are standard offers.

The grille, fender flares, and bumpers are all painted in black. Orange ‘R’ badges are added to the grille, tailgate, and power dome to compliment the black.

A new conical air filter helps improve breathing and airflow by 67 percent.

THE INTERIOR

There is nothing too fascinating about the interior of this model. It looks like most other F-150 models and has almost the same features and technology as many Raptors. However, the carbon-fiber accent throughout the cabin offers a different yet deluxe pattern. The seat upholstery is covered in black leather and micro suede. Its front seats are standard, and they come with a pair of comfortable and supportive Recaro. The black leather and Alcantara upholstery are decorated with orange code stitches, and the backs of the seats are embroiled with the RAPTOR logo, the last ‘R’ being in orange color.

The innard is a full black-out package with gloss black dash panels, carbon-fiber accents, a unique “triaxial” weave, and unique standard Recaro seat coverings.

The steering wheel spotlights an ‘R’ button. This button, when pressed, gives the driver access to a customized preset drive mode. Twelve inches touch screen that runs Ford sync four infotainment is standard. It includes Android -auto, Apple car play, and updates over the air.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE

Ford says they will be raising adrenaline levels in the year to come, the year 2023. Under the hood of 2023, Ford F-150 Raptor sits an outrageously powerful 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. It releases a high value of 700hp for its horsepower at 6650 rpm and 867 Nm value of torque at 4 250 rpm. All these make the F-150 Raptor R the most powerful of all F-150 Raptors.

Ford achieved all these by refurbishing the V8’s 2.65-liter supercharger and fitting a small 74-millimeter pulley versus the 80mm found in the GT500. Thus, peak power falls to 522kW, approximately.

For this model to climb from 0 to 60 mph, it takes almost 4.5 seconds. This is similar to the time taken for the Ram 1500 TRX to climb to 60 mph. For the durability of its engine, Ford enlarges the oil pan as this would key the truck going wild without worrying about an oil shortage.

PRICING

The production of the F-150 Raptor R will begin later this year in Michigan, but orders are open now, and its starting price is $109 150. This 2023 Edition is about $27 000 more than the 2022’s. Even though they have the same size of tires, the 2022 Edition doesn’t have any options available for its buyers.

PROS AND CONS

PROS

– It is very fast

– It has a good ground clearance

– It has a very powerful engine

CONS

– The interior upholstery didn’t exactly meet our expectations. We expected more.

CONCLUSION

Even though the Ford F-150 Raptor R is super-fast and can thread on any terrain, it doesn’t destroy the environment. Ford is committed to preserving the environment, and the threading lightly rules. We do not know how good the fuel economy is since it has not been rated. However, we expect it to be similar to that of the Ram 1500 TRX, which is; 10 mpg city, 14 mpg highway, and 12 mpg combined, which is quite okay, considering how powerful this Ford model is.

If you’re looking for a super-fast car with high technology, driver assistance, and off-the-road capability for outdoor activities, then the Ford F-150 Raptor R is for you. Another interesting thing about this is that its starting price is very moderate.
